One of the bands that got me into more extreme metal, Misery Index, has finally seen the bright side of being a great band that deserves a great label. Misery Index has inked a deal with the French label Season Of Mist.

Commented bassist/vocalist Jason Netherton:

Needless to say, we are very excited to start working with Season Of Mist and to join an exceptional roster that includes many of our favorite bands.

We will commence later this year to writing the next album, and with luck will enter the studio in 2012.

Thanks to everyone who helped us get to where we are today, and cheers to Season Of Mist for supporting us in our present and future endeavors.

MISERY INDEX’s latest album, “Heirs To Thievery”, sold around 1,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 43 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. Released in North America on May 11, 2010 via Relapse Records, the album was recorded at Wright Way Studios (Dying Fetus, Slipknot, Mos Def) with engineer Steve Wright.
